Bottle, at Patrick’s. A dark brown beer with a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. Some lacing. Lots of cocoa and chocolate in the aroma, as well as a wonderful, piney and resiny hoppiness. Bitter, piney and resiny flavor with a good chocolate and cocoa touch. Full body and a soft carbonation. Lasting bitter and piney, citrusy finish. Very tasteful and nice this one, even though it’s already half a year old. 150528

13.05.2015, tap @ Apollon:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fresh grassy, pine needles, leafs, hops, grass, bark, moss, rubber, minerals, dark malts, bark. Taste is dry mineraly, pine needles, minerals, bark, medicine, hops, grass, cardboard, leafs, dark malts, soil. Longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh and watery mouthfeel. Fair enough.

On tap at Henrik l og Vinstove, pours black with a small brown head. Nose is very bitter - not getting much chocolate on the nose, just hop astringency. Flavour is quite bitter, with bitter dry cocoa and astringent hops, maybe some espresso. Very astringent. Decent but not the easiest drinker.

Shared 50cl bottle at Café Sara (with Arve_Christian). Pours close to black with a moderate beige head. Fairly hoppy aroma with pine and citrus and the dark snd malty notes more in the back. Mild roasty notes with hints of dark, bitter chocolate and licorice. Moderate to medium sweet with dominating hoppy flavours and a fairly strong bitterness. Fairly well balanced and certainly tasty. Nice one!

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, large beige head. Aroma of citric hops, some spruce too, the roast malts are more subdued. The flavour is first smooth and pleasant, the citric hops blend in nicely with the roast malts, then a distinct resinous and medicinal bitterness sets in, lasting through the long aftertaste.

Another EGO to swallow. With pleasure. Can I nail him this time? BIPA is my favorite style. Starts black as The Raven with a fine beige head. Nice lacing also. Starts really well. Aroma…..mmmm oh yeah. Smooth and lovely tropical fruity, grapefruit, coffee and chocolate. I can sit a loooong time with my nose into this. Quite thick body. A pleasant soft carbonation makes it easy to drink. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Without the solid bitterness it would have been to sweet. I can not find anything wrong with the flavor. Just love this one! Tropical fruity, grapefruit hoppy, coffee and chocolate. Highly recomendable! One more please!
