On tap at the brewpub. An amber to brown colored beer with a finger-thick off-white head. Some lacings. The aroma is roasted tending towards burnt, with cloves, dried fruits, cellar notes and a chemical touch. It’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated, with a decent sweetness. The flavor has too much cloves I think, with roasted malts dominating. A fine bitterness level lasts for a while, but it’s still the roasted malts and cloves that are most evident in the finish. A decent beer, but too much on the clove side. 141127

Dark amber color (probably) with a fine tan head. Looks quite nice. Herbal, some spices, mild fruity and dark malt in the aroma. Not that bad but seemed a bit unbalanced. Medium 8+) body. Moderate sweet and a moderate bitterness. Soft carbonation. Weird flavor. Yeast, coffee, licorice, some fruity berry notes and a bit herbal. Ughh this was weird and not in balance with my body. Hopeless stuff.

200ml draught at the brewpub. Deep dark red coloured body with a ring to the rim of the surface. Dried fruity aroma with apricot to the fore. Sweet taste of apricot, herbs and dark berries. Some kind of spices are also included. A little yeasty tartness to the ending. Fine bodied. Pretty good (Oslo 08.12.2014).

On tap at Schouskjelleren. Very dark and quite hazy, bit difficult to see here in the basement. Herbal and spicy aroma with licorice, reminds me quite a bit about Riga balm. Fairly mslty, but herbs dominating, more cough sirupy than beer like. Certainly a strange thing. Not quite my kind of beer, but interesting enough. Hmmmm.
