On tap at the brewpub. It pours a clear, dark amber body under a finger-thick beige head. Molasses, some licorice, roasted malts and prunes in the aroma. There’s a quite nice bitterness and sweetness in the flavor, balanced, with molasses, roasted malts and some dark dried fruits. It’s full-bodied and soft on the palate, with some warmth from the alcohol, and a nice carbonation. Lasting finish. Sure a fine Christmas bock, just as good as some of the finer German doppelbocks. 141127

On tap at Crowbar, Oslo. Clear deep mahogany with a tan head. Malty and caramely aroma with notes of dried fruits, hints of wood and spices. Fairly sweet and quite flavourful with a balanced bitterness. Quite nice, but a bit too sweet.
