The newest member of the A. Le Coq Brewer’s Collection is the British Red Ale or BRA for short, which brings the centuries-old British beer traditions to Estonia. It is a full-bodied top-fermented beer that gets its reddish colour from the English caramel malt. The malty taste of the beer is complemented by the berry scent and moderate bitterness of British hops. East Kent Golding, First Gold, Progress and Admiral hops are used to make BRA.

(Can, 0.5 l - BB 10.08.18, from a supermarket in Haapsalu, 20180707) The beer poured deep amber and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had berries and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were earth, sweetness, berries, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and mildly bitter. A weak brew with weird aroma.

50cl can from SuperAlko. Pretty much amber in color, off white head. Malty, bread and some caramel in the aroma. Caramelly, slightly toffeeish malty toasty flavor. The flavors are there but quite dull and does not stand out in any way.

Can, thanks Harry. Clear amber with a medium white head. Aroma and taste of malt, some caramel, light metal and hints of fruit. The body was light and the mouthfeel soft. Drinkable but nothing special.

50cl can from Prisma, Tallinn. Pours clear amber with a modest off-white head. Aroma of caramel and metal with hints of fruity hops and herbs. Medium sweet with almost unpleasant metallic caramel flavour, but at least a mild bitterness. Far from impressive, but still drinkable.
