50cl bottle from Rimi Juglas centrs, Riga. Pours clear pale golden with a rather modest, white head. Looks like a pale lager and smells like a pale lager. Hops: Citra/Magnum is written on the bottle, but can’t find much of that. Quite usual grainy aroma with some mild fruity notes, hints of cooked vegetables and herbs. Might be able to get just a hint of citrusy notes too, but possibly it’s just my imagination. Didn’t expect much of this, but still ended up disappointed in a way. Certainly no IPA and that isn’t written anywhere on the bottle either, and since the only 15 IBU I didn’t expect much hoppy flavours of bitterness either, but was hoping for a hint. Have tried some hoppy lagers that are nice, but this is possubly not a lager either. The brewery’s page claims that it’s an ale - and also that it’s with both barley and wheat. Last one might actually be noticeable, but... Well anyway it’s not horrible bad or undrinkable, just not much flavour and not very interesting and not much to write home about in the end. Thin, watery and not much flavour or bitterness, but still drinkable. Don’t quite see the point of this one, but the bottle and the label looks pretty nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lielvārdes Citra on 22 May 2015 at 16:44 - Score: 3
