On tap at Amundsen. A dense , finger thick beige head sits on top of a clear copper colored body. The aroma hasa solid dose of coriander, with some caramel maltyness. Smooth, but a bit thin on the palate, some warmth. Coriander, lime, maltyness and some caramel in the flavor. Decent bitterness in the finish. Well, quite decent, but a bit bland compared to the original. 111014

Hazy brown colour with an off white head. Sweet nose. Hard to make up my mind about this. We agreed that it tasted bubblegum and alcohol. Light fruity and some caramelmalt.

On tap @ Amundsen 2011.11.14 Dark reddish amber body with a small tan head and big bubbles. Aroma of wheat, spices, soap and alcohol. Flavor is sweet, fruity, bitter and alcohol. There is definitively a lot of things going on here, not so easy to define. It’s an interesting beer, less fruity and coriander than the previous Nøgne Ø version. That version tasted a lot more balanced after about one year’s storage. We will probably never know what some storage might do to this version.

Taster, draught at the brewpub. Nice lacing, short-lived beige head. Dark brown body with a red tint and a wheat haze. Ripe banana and dark malts to the nose. Dried fruity taste, sweet and bitter in fine harmony, notes of caramel and liquorice. Nice dark bitter ending. Full bodied, well made brew (Oslo, 26.09.2011).
