From a 750ml bottle on 25/12/2021 (shared by Butz with thanks). Pours a deep brown with little in the way of head. The nose is malty and fruity, with a good dash of chocolate and spice in the mix. On the sip, it's quite intense yet very smooth, with chocolate, coffee, orange and hints of dark fruit, which is met by a firm pine hoppiness which balances the whole package out very nicely. Don't get the Begian aspect though. Medium modied with average carbonation. Pretty easy drinking for 10% and a really good double black IPA.

Bottle. Black with a dense tan cap that laces well. Promising intense aroma of chocolate, brioche, nectarines, oranges. Silky, medium low carbonation. Not sticky or oily. Tastes very much as it smells. Sweet but with bitterness that lifts it away. Very drinkable for its strength. A real return to form for this one.

On tap at Vic launch. Deep black. Warm chocolate nose with pine in there. Thick in mouth. More dark chocolate and we'll rounded coffee. Bitterness does come through and lift it. This will age very well.
