DDH Oat Cream Double IPA

One of our most sought-after beers makes its long-awaited return — and this one’s extra special. Brewed to celebrate our 1000th batch at Banks, Citra Feels is the quintessential expression of what we do best: hop-forward juice with softness dialled all the way up.

Exclusively hopped with our house favourites Citra & Citra Cryo, it bursts with waves of mango, citrus, passionfruit and peach. A lush body of oats and a touch of lactose make it creamy, pillowy and dangerously drinkable.

This is quintessential Banks hop juice — juicy, smooth and full of feels.

Growler. Opaque camel with a white head. Smells like Citra - which is indeed King. OtOH lactose in IPAs is lachrymose. Grapefruit, herbal Meyer lemon, slight menthol edge. Taste is sweet with oranges more prominent and a slight earthy and pithy astringency before a slightly bitter finish.

From a 500ml can on 26/7/2021. Pours a murky light golden with a medium head. The nose features lots of citrus and tropical fruit, and spice. The taste features masses of pineapple and orange with a big tangy spicy bitterness. The mouthfeel is slick and a touch creamy, the carbonation moderate to average. Truly lovely stuff.

Re-rate on 5/11/2025 (current version). Just exceptional, and way more impressive than the last time (which was still great). Arguably the best oat cream I've ever had.

500ml can. Opaque yellow (think cloudy pineapple juice). Pineapple and orange nose. Super juicy, almost chlaky mouthfeel. Pineapple abounds. Nice little throat tickle of bitterness. Perhaps the best beer yet from some very, very capable brewers.
