Purple Haze® is a lager brewed with real raspberries added after filtration. It is brewed with pilsner and wheat malts and Vanguard hops. The berries add a fruity aroma, tartly sweet taste and a subtle purple color and haze...you may see fruit pulp in the beer. This beer is best served with salads or light fruit desserts, such as soufflés or chiffon cakes. Many people enjoy it with chocolate desserts. Purple Haze® pairs well with certain cheeses, such as ripened Brie or any dessert made with mascarpone. It’s also great paired with entrees prepared with fruit, especially citrus. Consider enjoying Purple Haze® alone at the end of your meal as dessert.

Bottle at Hill Tavern. Pours clear Amber brown with a decent white head. Aroma is grass, malts, grain and raspberry. Taste is dominated by sweet raspberry syrup, with a little grass and malt mellowing the sweetness out but not very will. Not the best.

Bottle from Publix Supermarket, Lexington, South Carolina. Hazy amber with a thinnish head. Its raspberry is dominant and a little sour in its finish. Lingers long in its aftertaste.

Pours a ruddy amber from a bottle, sweetish aroma, biscuity sweet flavor, not picking up on a lot of raspberry per se. Meh.

12 oz bottle: bought for a laugh, sadly it didn’t make me laugh one bit. BB 21st Apr 17, drank on 28th Jan 17 as I watched the sun set from my Son-in-Laws patio in Orange County, California. Murky, dirty orange pour, no head, just a thin collar around the glass. Intense raspberry aroma, red berries and tartness in the taste, yet with an underlying sweetness too. Really struggled to finish the beer: not my thing at all.

Unmemorable hints of lemon and peach over mediocre beer. No head and just blah body orange. Forgettable even when paying top dollar at a show for it I tells ya.
