Purple Haze® is a lager brewed with real raspberries added after filtration. It is brewed with pilsner and wheat malts and Vanguard hops. The berries add a fruity aroma, tartly sweet taste and a subtle purple color and haze...you may see fruit pulp in the beer. This beer is best served with salads or light fruit desserts, such as soufflés or chiffon cakes. Many people enjoy it with chocolate desserts. Purple Haze® pairs well with certain cheeses, such as ripened Brie or any dessert made with mascarpone. It’s also great paired with entrees prepared with fruit, especially citrus. Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane’s Beer and Wine. Aroma is light biscuit malts, hint of fruit? Appearance is cloudy light orange with light green/yellow at tops and bottom, light reddish/purple hue, trace sparkle, small bits of berry in there as advertised, no head but thin white ring and trace lacing. Taste is mix of sweet and tart berry over pilsner malt base, not entirely harmoniously. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture and soft to average carbonation, dry slightly bitter finish. Overall, as advertised--a subtle coloration, fruity aroma and tartly sweet taste. This is pretty weak all around.

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Cloudy gold color with minimal white head. Dark sediment floating around in the glass which slowly settles at the bottom. Presumably raspberry pulp, at least that is the hope! Faint aroma of red berries and not much else. Taste might be simulated by filling half a glass with a low quality wheat beer, adding an equal portion of murky swamp water, and then mixing in the pulp/juice of one-eighth of one raspberry. Weak wheat and weak raspberry profiles. Not good.

Bottle, stable quite dense bubbly head, cloudy deep pink to light red color, enticing aroma of fresh raspberries, same raspberries in the flavor with wood and cardbord. Nice but quite simple.

Draught at Frankie’s Pizza, Sydney, on October 17, 2015.Golden color, white head. Raspberry taste, sweet, fresh. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Raspberry aftertaste. Fresh, raspberry, fruity scent.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - cloudy red orange with a decent head. Nose - raspberries, light malt and a touch of caramel. Taste - more raspberries, sweet malt. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - yeah quite pleasant.

Canned, 355 ml from supermarket in Brooklyn. Pours hazy orange with unclear white head. Fruit aroma. Fruit and wheat in flavor. Sweetish, Can’t say I’ve enjoyed it.

Old rating. Pours a hazy orange color with a modest head. Aromas of wheat, citrus banana and raspberry. Fairly light bodied and refreshing. Tastes of wheat and citrus with a nice tart finish. Not bad.
