Dark Chocolate & Toasted Coconut Imperial Stout.
1kg of toasted coconut in 20l of beer, which spent 8 weeks in an oak cask sitting on 600g of spiced rum soaked cacao nibs.
...it’s great...but no substitute for a good blaster at your side, kid...
Limited edition batch - only 47 bottles.

Can from the Emperor's Brewery Online Shop. Definitely a plain chocolate Bounty Bar nose (which no longer exists, bastards!), cola, raisin, toffee. Throat caressing taste of plain chocolate Bounty, sweet tobacco, toffee, coffee, caramel cake, cocoa. Rich warming finish.

Blik gedeeld door Roelzie. Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een dun bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van kokos. De smaak is vol gebrande mout, chocolade en kokos.

Sample at Billie's Craft Beer Fest, Antwerp 2024-11-08. Black with intense aroma of coconut and roasted malt and vanilla. Very sweet. Finish is too intense on the coconut for me.

Imperial stout with cocoa and toasted coconut by this rather elusive British craft brewer, thanks Craftmember for sharing! Chocolate milk-coloured (reddish brown) foam, immediately dissolving into absolutely nothing over an ink black beer with a copper-red edge of about one millimeter. Intense aroma of more fresh than toasted coconut, macaroons, milk chocolate, Bounty candy, biscuit cake, dame blanche, cocoa nibs, vanilla, almond, pecan nut pie, latté macchiato, Belgian chocolates, espresso, After Eight cookies, rum. Densely sweet onset, reduced fig jam and blackberry coulis, muscovado-like sugariness, sticky even; soft carb with very thick, oily mouthfeel. Slabs of dark chocolate, toffee, mocha, latté and hazelnut ice cream ensue, sweet but always with this thin nutty side which evolves into more outspoken coffeeish bitterness towards the end, where the cocoa intensifies the overall chocolateyness and the coconut adds a tropical, candy-ish, rum-like effect, all warmed up by liqueurish alcohol. ‘Fat’, rich flavoured stout, very intense and decadent as usual with this brewery – a formula which does not always entirely work for me, but here it most certainly does. No match for a blaster, indeed…
