(Draught at King's Arms, Bethnal Green, London, 18 Nov 2023) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee, liquorice and a touch of tobacco. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice, tobacco, caramel, wood, a touch of rum and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. Rich, tasty and warming. Very nice.

Rocky light brown head on a near black body. Malt, Christmas cake, chocolate & boozy aroma. Full bodied, smooth & clean on the back. Marmite, soy, liquorice, salty & berry tastes with a big boozy bourbon finish. Excellent.

Can. It's more or less black in the glass, with a small dark beige head. The aroma is quite roasted, with dark chocolate, coffee and a hint of licorice. Caramel and some alcohol too. It's full-bodied and quite smooth on the palate, sweet and lightly warming. Roasted malts, caramel, toffee notes, dark chocolate and some coffee and salty licorice in the flavor. Some hoppy hints too, and a quite long finish. A tasteful and pleasant one, not too boozy or too sweet either. Dangerously easy drinkable. 220521
