We’ve started out with a malt base of pale malt, rye, dark crystal and carafa3 to give a slightly caramelised, spicy and dark base while being restrained on roast character. A hop bill of Amarillo, Cascade, Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe and Centennial pairs with the malt to make the beer deliciously chewy, dank, piney and floral.

30/5/2021. Can shared with Dan and ITFCfan, from Hopsters, Ipswich. Pours dark maroon brown with a frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, hops, dark fruits, citrus, tropical fruit, pine. Moderate sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight creamy texture, average carbonation. Got better and better.

440ml can from Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. A lasting, bubbly, fawn-coloured head over a jet black body, clingy lacing. Attractive aromas of dark roasted malts, bread, and grapefruit. Well blended taste character of citrus, dark bread, earth and a hint of liquorice. Pine needles to a roasted bitter finish. Fine depth. Enjoyed on a Saturday eve at home. Good drinking. Svart. Høyt kremaktig skum med litt farge. Pen lacing. Aroma av søt frukt. Inviterende. Smaken røstet malt, karamell & tørket frukt. Tørr avslutning. Vel mye kullsyre.

ABV: 6.4%. Clear dark black brown colour with a large, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark malt, wood, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit, wood - woody hops, light licorice. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a long duration, pine, grapefruit, wood - woody hops, dark malt, roasted, dank, dry, light licorice. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20210123]

Can at home, 17th January 2021. Pours rich and black, white head. Aroma is cocoa, roasted malts, floral citrus. Taste is bitter, cocoa, roasted malts, citrus flower, good bitterness, chocolate and pith. Gorgeous BIPA, best one I’ve had for a while
