We decide to brew an IPA but with classical lager hops like Tettnanger Hallertau and Saaz, we just add a hint of Simcoe for red fruits’s flavors to the batch. Floral and fruity flavors, slightly cold smoked hops aromas and delicate herbal touches for the bouquet.

From tap. Pours hazy orange with an off white, creamy head. Aroma is grapefruity, peachy hoppy. Smooth fruity, slight herbal. Crisp hoppy, peachy and dry grapefruity. Lingering fruity and crisp hoppy far finish. Building smoke note from back of the nose.

Bouteille 33cl. Dorée sur léger trouble, col épais blanc. Arôme est fort plaisant apportant un léger bouquet fumé accompagné d’une levure plus allemande, rétro houblonné offrant qcq effluves agrumes et nobles. Palais est assez convainquant avec un agréable profil fumé-fleuri qui offre en alternance un léger fruité citronné et fleuri. Le tout accompagné d’une pointe de noble. Malté de pils ainsi qu’une fine sécheresse en fin de bouche. Étonnant de découvrir que ce fumé provient en fait des houblons fumé et non du malt.

Big fizzy-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry mineraly, weeds, smoked malts, minerals, grass, caramel, flowers, paper, bark. Taste is slightly harsh mineraly, weeds, minerals, sour grass, bark, flowers, paper, hay, light malts, metal tank. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh and mineraly mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.

Huge, very dense and fine light yellowish head, stable and leaving some lace over hazy orange beer. Smoked, "Rauchmalz", mild phenols; spices,bit of ureum. Sourish, smoked. Usually a combination doomed for disaster, but as both are quite mild, it works - just. Finish is slightly more sourish, probably due to the CO². Faintly fruity, but the smoke dampens that kind of flavours. Medium bodied, quite slick. Spritzy carbonation. Quite good, certainly not stellar.

Bottle (from Koht). Pours dark golden with huge beige head. The head stays. Aroma is floral, fruits, citrus, malt, peach, apricot. Flavor is sweet and bitter, citrus, peach, apricot, malt. Finish is intense citric-dry bitter. Overall: ok, a bit harsh maybe. I don’t get any smoke (maybe a faint hint), it’s just some IPA-ish brew.

Flaska från Etre Gourmet. En infekterad flaska (troligtvis brett) har förändrat det här ölet mycket. Främsta karaktärdrag är nu brett, syrlighet och en lätt rökighet. borta är humlen och allt som skulle kunna påminna om en IPA. Astringent men helt klart drickbart. Ok.

Flaska från Etre Gourmet. Smak och doft av jäst, humle, citrus, citron, stall, hö, gödsel, med ton av rök och jord. Fruktigt, lagom sötma, viss syrlighet, lite obalans i smakerna, kanske något som gått fel vid bryggningen. Beska med smak av citrusskal.

Bottle [from trade with CH-303] @ home. Lightly hazy yellow to light orange color, huge foamy white head. Smell and taste lightly malts, hops, smoke, softly bitter. IPA x Smoked = Highway to Helles. Pretty well done actually, although it’s not quite my favorite style.

Bottle from CH-303 - thank you, Asbjørn! Pours cloudy light amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit and flowers, with notes of malt and hops and - perhaps - some hints of smoke. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with notes of citrus, malt and fruit and very faint touches of smoke. Bitter aftertaste with acetic hints. Not bad, although rather thin.
