The Saison Dupont is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since 1844, this beer has been brewed in our farm-brewery, during the winter time.
Then this beer became a second refermentation in the barrel.
During the next summer, this very thirst-quenching beer was served to the “saisoniers” which were working on the fields.
Surely therefore, our Saison Dupont is considered as “the classic” among the Belgian season beers!
Coppery blond, the finest aromas and a strong bitterness transform this beer into a thirst-quenchener with no equal, just the way it was created.
Our selection of yeasts is the perfect base for these typical aromas and ditto taste.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result into this complex and particular aromatic beer.

On tap @ Henrik. Yup, no doubt that this is a saison. It's smells arch-typical saison yeasty and really fruity. Lots of apples and banana (?) here. Some wheat sweetness, but still kinda dry. Slight hint of pineapple. Yeah, this is nice stuff. Tastes lovely also. It's really smooth and almost a look the velvety in the mouth while the soft prickling carbonation makes this really smooth in the mouth. Fruity and again, arch typical saison-ish. It's really elegant and balanced this. Soft candy, some red apple skin with traces of pepper and bitter clementine zest in the back. Yeah, not much more to say. A lovely saison. 22.08.2014

33cl bottle. Cloudy pale orange colour, thick white head, fair amount of fine sediment. Aroma is citrus, yeast, spices, sweet malt and hops. Slightly sweetish flavour with malt, mellows out with the acidic fruity citrus flavours, spices and yeast, with a dry hoppy finish. Really well balanced beer, very refreshing.

Big frothy foam with big bubbles. Colour is hazy straw to gold with lots of residue. Quite intense carbonation. Aroma is very refreshing and super estery. A tad spicy maybe. Flavour is also very refreshing and estery, spicy and quite mild, with a bit of a boozy note.

0.33 l bottle from ’Gall & Gall Cuijk’, bottled in December 2014 (more than a year old). Clear, golden yellow with a large, dense, stable, white head. Slightly funky, yeasty-spicy, floral and a little fruity aroma of white grapes, peach, clove, lemon peel and some coriander. Sweetish, slightly sourish-funky, fruity-spicy taste of lemon balm, peach, white grapes, gooseberry, clove and coriander, followed by a short, moderately dry-bitter, minimally sourish, slightly yeasty-spicy finish. Medium body, slightly spritzy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Very refreshing, love that subtle funkiness, perfectly balanced and not too dry. Good!

Dark golden/light orange, slightly hazy, huge, quite dense and persistent white head, leaving nice lacing on the glass. Freshly bright aroma of lemon and orange pulp, vivid herbal freshness too. The slightest earthy feel. Taste opens with fruity sweetness (lemon, orange) among a crackery foundation. A mild spicy note. Finish is herbal/grassy, slightly on the bitter side, dry. Again, a slight hint of earthyness may be detected. Light to medium body, dense carbonation, very lively mouthfeel. Goes down so easy but never gets boring. Simple and great at the same time
