The Saison Dupont is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle.
Since 1844, this beer has been brewed in our farm-brewery, during the winter time.
Then this beer became a second refermentation in the barrel.
During the next summer, this very thirst-quenching beer was served to the “saisoniers” which were working on the fields.
Surely therefore, our Saison Dupont is considered as “the classic” among the Belgian season beers!
Coppery blond, the finest aromas and a strong bitterness transform this beer into a thirst-quenchener with no equal, just the way it was created.
Our selection of yeasts is the perfect base for these typical aromas and ditto taste.
A real refermentation in the bottle, which will continue for a long time in your cellar, result into this complex and particular aromatic beer.

From Oct 2005

This poured a nice cloudy light gold with a nice head that settled into a fine layer with good lacing

The smell is all fruit for me...banana and apricot is what I sense.

The taste is very fruity with tones of banana, apricot and a bit of yeasty malty flavour. It's my first Saison and right off the bat, I really LIKE the style! ;^)

Highly recommended.

Bottle. A- Mustard seed, subtle latex, floral, cucumber, subtle vinegar, spice. A- Yellow orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Subtle spices, wheat, lemon, floral. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, O- This seems to be the standard judged by all saison. Quite tasty but I didn’t fall head over for it. Lots of nice floral notes and not overwhelming in spice. Very balanced.

Bottle from the LCBO. Cloudy pale orange body with a large wihte foamy long lasting head. Nose is yeast, spice, grains, lemon, banana, slight peach and some green apple. Light sweet fruit with some lemon tartness and a light+ spice. Mouth is light with prickly carbonation and a dry finish. Excellent, well balanced Saison.

Helder lichtgeel bier met veel schuim. Smaak is licht bitter hoppig. Verder niet echt bijzonder, gewoon standaard goed bier. Smaak blijft lang hangen.

75cl botttle at home shared with Sarah. Lovely looking light hazed bright yellow/ straw coloured pour with a fluffy white stick head. Aroma is classic saison yeast, rustic grains, straw and wheat, hint of lemon rind and slightly spicy. Nice hint of rustic funk and sulphur on the nose, yet still very fresh and bright. Flavour is composed of light cereal grains, wheat, straw, saison yeast, hint of apple. Considerable spicy bitterness in the finish. Palate is light and effervescent, semi drying in the finish. Very quaffable and delicately balanced. Some phenol in the finish.

Clear pale yellow pour, with a tall white, foamy head, characteristic of good Belgian ales. The smell is slightly salty, with notes of Belgian yeast, honey, elderflowers, locust, and a whif of lambic funkiness. A very well balanced taste, bitter and sweet, salty and just a hint of sour, with notes of honey, yeast, citrus and bread. Very pleasant mouthfeel due to the carbonation. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Saison Dupont (Vieille Provision) on 18 Aug 2016 at 23:39 - Score: 8
