A truly natural kvass produced by live fermentation. It is made according to classical technique where the production process starts from barley and rye malting. Only natural ingredients are used for kvass production. These are crystal clear water, barley and rye malt, yeast and sugar. Kvass by Obolon has a pleasant sweet-sour taste and rye bread flavor. Bottle at home, cola colour, no head. aroma is sweet, caramel, raisins;. Taste is the same, quite nice.

# 4490; 12/2024. Caramel, ligt roasty aroma. Brilliant brown body. Sweet, caramel, roast, fruity. Good kvas. 0,2 l from 2 l of plastic bottle, local shop, Schönlinde (Bohemia, CZ).

Dieses ukraininsche Kwass fand ich in einem Geschäft für osteuropäische Produkte in Wien. Gebraut ist es von der bekannten Obolon-Brauerei für den deutschen Monolith-Konzern. Es wirkt aber sehr flach osteuropäisch. Sehr süß und mäßig spritzig. Nichts spezielles, aher durchaus gut trinkbar.

1,5L plastic bottle. From XIX Swieto chleba in Radom. Lots of caramel and dark bread. Too Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet for me. Again - NO thanks.

At a tasting, thanks, no head, clear dark brown color, like a cola, dominant aroma of dark bread, flavor of dark bread, caramel and dried fruits, light soueneaa but still much too sweet, hard to drink.

Plastic bottle shared at a tasting at Max’s place. Deep amber-brown. Pretty nice aroma of caramel, nuts, chocolate, citric note. Sweet flavor with caramel, nuts, a bit of chocolate, and mild citric acidity. A bit too sweet, but quite alright. Nose is pretty rich for a kvass.

Bottle. Pours fizzy dark brown with no head. Clear, non-aggressive aroma of rye bread. Richly carbonated. Bready with sourish finish. Not bad for a mass market kvass.

Plastic bottle. Roasted aroma. Clear brown colour, fizzy with no head. Looks like cola. The flavour is also roasted. Very sweet with some citric acid. Late roasted flavour, burnt caramel, molasses.

2l bottle from a local Russian supermarket. Dark brown, fizzy head, sweet-sour aroma. Sweet base with a quite sour balance, grainy, roast flavour.
