Big on American hop flavour and aroma from Mosaic and Chinook hops. Drinkability for its ABV from a clean malt base. A real juicy one!

APA by this craft brewery in North Yorkshire, from a can; my sample does not mention Summit so maybe the recipe has been tweaked meanwhile? Snow white, membrane-lacing, irregularly edged, opening and dissolving head over a misty apricot blonde beer with orangey tinge. Aroma of 'dank' overripe and toasted onion, moldy orange, a whiff of gasoline, smoky ripe papaja, mango, mandarin, withering dill. Juicy onset, hop fruitiness reminiscent of papaja, ripe pear and kumquat with quite a lot of citrusy fraîcheur to it, medium carbonated, supple and bit oily in mouthfeel; slick cereally maltiness leading to an aromatically hoppy finish, bringing back the papaja, mango and citrus notes but also that oniony aspect; bitterness remains very light, though, giving free reign to the initial fruity sweetness to pass through. Interesting and inviting nose, but things seem to go a bit downhill from there, feeling a bit thin and too sweet, with a lack of actual hops' bitterness even for an APA in New England idiom - as this one is clearly intended to be. Needs more 'oomph', but the general idea is okay; should still be in prime condition, though, considering it was canned on my birthday, a mere ten weeks ago...

Not sure how I'd never had this before. Good stuff at the new Fossgate Tap (was Sutlers), which TP have involvement in.
