Vuur & Vlam is an overly hopped beer. Yet, it's not aggressive in it's bitterness or too grassy from the hops. We mainly retrieve the fruit and floral aromas from the hops. Giving it a huge hop character with the nasty bitterness. Flavor indication: citrus, floral, light grassy. Translates as Fire & Flames

750 ml corked and wired bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.2%. Batch brewed 28.11.09, bottle No. 483 of a total of 570. Bottle conditioned. Hazy deep golden to orange colour, big to moderate white head with an orangey hue. Very pleasant aroma of fruity American hops, hints of resin too. The flavour has loads of resinous and fruity hop notes, on a background of malty and fruity sweetness, ending in a moderate but distinct hoppy bitterness. Good stuff.

Hazy light amber color. The aroma is hoppy, quite grassy, fruity (grapefruit, passion fruit...). The body is not strong, the flavor has caramel and toffee, dry and creamy, with strong bitterness, very fruity and quite resiny. Very good, modern, IPA.

2010-01-30, cask at Bishop’s Arms, Malmö, 6-5-7-4-13=35
Cloudy amber color, small creamy head, beautiful lacing. The aroma is mild, cheesy stinky, with light hops. The mouthfeel is soft, the carbonation attenuated, the flavor is a bit earthy and dusty, with light malt, some more caramel and toffee, residual sugars, and strong hopping, partially fruity and resiny. More chaotic than the Mikkeller Cream Ale I just had, but equally pleasant.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm) Amber colour with huge, lasting, off-white head, leaving traces of lacing. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, orange peel, grapefruit and dried apricots. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange peel, dried apricots, grapefruit and piney hops in a fairly bitter finish. More than medium body, rather dry but with some malt sweetness. Tasty and well balanced, although it’s dominated by citrussy, bitter hops. Very nice.

Bottle # 1312: Hazy, orangey coloured, giant - very stable - fluffy off-white head; extremely impressive medical-hoppy nose with a subtle sweet maltiness underneath; solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; pleasantly balanced bitter-sweet finish with lots of piney, hoppy and herbal aromas - sticking to the palate. Superb, great, gorgeous.....

(bottle, 33cl, No. 1312) Hazy, amber colour with a huge and slowly lacing tanned foamy head. Very aromatic noble hoppy aroma with piney and zesty, as well as citrus- and lemon-fruity notes, combined with a slightly malty and yeasty background. Moderately bitter flavour with a rounded malty sweetness, medium to full bodied with a quite sparkly mouthfeel. Solid (cara-)malty base with a tinge of bubblegum and a complex and noble hops character with notes of citrus, lime, resin and herbs; moderately dry and mildly bitter resiny hoppy finish with a rounded malty sweetness. Excellent ! 23.XII.09

Botled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Lightly hazy deep golden, enormous rocky head. Rich gooseberry and lychee aroma. Sweet and fruity with dense runded mouthfeel and above medium body. Very hop driven and aromatic with loads of tropical fruits. Underneath lies subtle fruity notes of marzipan. Finishing with marked bitterness.

Cask, Lincolnshire Poacher, Nottingham. Was lucky enough to stumble in and catch this on over the summer. The cask had crossed the north sea courtesty of de wildeman crew in amsterdam to celebrate their ’twinning’; and stonkingly good it was too. Hazy bronze colour with a nice white head. Explosive hop packed aroma that led to a tropical fruit laced flavour that oozed resinous hop. Perfect bitterness. Lip smackingly tasty stuff. A fantastic beer, and I haven’t enjoyed a few pints of anything more than this so far in 2009....

Picked up from Bacchanalia, Cambridge 03-10-09, consumed the following day at home. This erupted out of the bottle before pouring a hazy light amber. There is a massive hoppy nose, the tongue really gets a workout, great fruitiness in fact this is just a very decent beer. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle at RBESG 09 Sheffield. Hop win. Lovely aroma. Too yeasty in the mouth though. 3.2 Re-rate At GBBF 2009. Clear amber, hoppy US IPA aroma. Sweetish, slightly sour too. Slightly estery IPA
