A big beer named after the cultural capital of eastern India; a place with a rich history, and a trading post of the East India Company. With inspiration drawn from historic recipes of the 19th Century dark hop bombs, we’ve given this rich stout a modern overhaul with two big New World hops: US Simcoe and NZ Motueka. Expect all the velvety roasted tones of a deep stout, combined with the sticky, resinous, and zesty qualities of a big IPA.

21/11/2019. Keg, sample, courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours almost black with minimal beige head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, leafy hops, sweet roasted malt, touch of coffee, ash, nut and lactose. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Bitterness builds to finish.

Keg at Big Mash Up Beer Festival, Steam Machine Brewery, Newton Aycliffe. Brown black colour, biege foam head and aroma of hop, roasty malt. Taste is malty, caramel with fruity hoppy notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi-dry tangy roast bitter finish. Nicely drinkable
