The 2018 Do it Puritan! is the happy marriage of three amazing pome fruits: the rare little eggs we call White Norman apples, two varieties of exotically perfumed quince – Meeches Prolific and Vranja – and the glorious, flush-cheeked Blakeney Red pear. All fermented spontaneously and bottled Pét Nat style.

The outcome is something super tropical – think guava and mango – but it’s also deeply peachy and seriously lemony. Juicy and aromatic, it’s just an outrageously moreish wine.

Brilliant on its own, it also matches bold, spicy food incredibly well.
Enjoy cold. Drink now through 2021.

17/5/2020. Sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma starts sweet with apple pie and custard, develops more with the quince coming through nicely. Quite fragrant and perfumed with baked pear notes. Moderate sweetness and tartness. Enjoyable.

750ml bottle from Fine Cider Company. Sparkling, yellow golden colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and nose of fruity, fragrant woody, apple & pear, fleshy. Taste is slightly tart, herby wood, apple & quince, tangy, vanilla, caramel, fruity, drying, citric. Medium bodied, medium to spritzy carbonation, dry and tart finish. Quite drinkable.
