Acid. A defining moment in the British music scene and a defining flavour of the Discovery apple. This single variety of apple has always been an underground hit, on the fringe of the cider apple scene and the first into the press. Discovery takes a different path from its predecessors, pushing tannins to the side and making a fresh acid tinged name for itself. This cider, just like nights spent bouncing in the Hacienda, starts as an intimidating experience but ends as an experience you’ll never forget.

500ml bottle from Brewdog online. Pale golden colour, afew short-lived bubbles on top and aroma of wood barrel, formic, apple, vanilla. Taste is sweetish, fruity apple, tart, woody barrel, vanilla, formic, and some citric notes. Slightly oily slick mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry citric acidic finish. Quite drinkable.

Bottle at home from Brewdog online. A crystal clear woody peach coloured pour with no head. Aroma is semi sweet, dry woody note, pear and custard sweets, hint of vanilla. Flavour is composed of semi sweet apple curd, to tart finish, light woody tannins, pear, apple jam. Just a light funk note in the finish. Palate is almost still , semi sweet, tart. Fine.
