Time for Jedi Juice, friends! Our West Coast IPA is more Californian than Coruscant, but we promise it has all Force of a Skywalker Ranch tour guide. Is this our most uncivilized IPA of all time? Please, only a Sith deals in absolutes. Any beer tastes good during sequels and prequels, but it takes a real Jedi Master beer to last the entire trilogy.

Another Star-Wars-themed Uiltje beer, intended as a West Coast IPA according to the can, thanks Craftmember for sharing. Egg-white, mousy, opening but largely stable head on a misty yellow-blonde beer. Aroma of mango, starfruit, sugared lime juice, dough, raw white celery (unexpectedly), moldy oranges, light sweaty note of classic IPA ‘dankness’. Sweetish onset, lime, starfruit and mango, tropical and citrusy, very refreshing with minerally, medium strong carbonation and this raw celery aspect returning subtly; doughy, bit bready-cereally malts soaked in very aromatic hoppiness reminiscent of tropical citrus fruit and mango again whilst also adding a mild spicy bitterness and colourful zestiness. A fine ‘postmodern’ hazy IPA from Uiltje again, but by no means is this a clear, bitter, peppery, grapefruit-pith- and wormwood-like West Coast IPA – heck, this is even less West-Coast-like than Alchemist’s Heady Topper… Could it be that this substyle, still dominating IPA land a mere five to ten years ago, is really completely forgotten? Or maybe Uiltje has never really experienced it, at least not in brewing… Too bad because I miss those days – so point off here for not delivering what you promise, Uiltje!

24/I/21 - 44cl can from Uiltje Fast & Fresh Programme, shared @ home, BB: 12/X/21, canned: 12/I/21 (2021-82)

Clear blond beer, small creamy irregular white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very juicy, tropical fruits, citrus notes, some pineapple, a bit soapy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citrus in the start, pretty bitter, some grapefruit, grassy, some alcohol, bit of a hop burn, very juicy, dry, tropical fruits. Aftertaste: citrus, hoppy, good bitterness, tropical fruits, bit resinous, good beer!

Can at home. Almost clear golden with small white head. Dank weedy hops, spruce, gooseberries, lime, grapes. Medium sweet and bitter. Crisp medium bodied. Quite nice.
