The L’Eroica beer has been brewed to reflect the Tour De France event coming to Britain for the first time and reflects one of the great styles of British beer a Pale Ale. It provides a showcase for a blend of classic English hops including Challenger, Fuggles and Bramling Cross that give the beer a crisp and refreshing taste – what could be better after a long bike ride.

[33cl bottle of Handsome Pale Ale from Westholme Stores, Goring.] A bright pale amber pour with a billowing white head; aroma of Kentish hops; sweet grainy taste with a herbal bitterness and some peppery spice. Just how an English Pale Ale should taste.

Bottle at THT. Very clear golden with white head. Sweet malts, quite flowery, some lime, bread crust, soft mineral notes. Under medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied.

Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry floral, weeds, hay, dried grain, paper, flowers, grass, bark, hints of vegetables. Taste is dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, bark, paper, hay, metal tank, flowers. Medium to longlasting bitterness, harsh metallic mouthfeel. Meh!
