19/01/2018 - 33cl bottle @Judoclub Oudenaarde. Clear blonde, nice white head. Nose is sweet malts, hops, yeast. Taste is malts, some banana, bit sweetness (not much), spicy yeast, some hopsbitterness. Damn nice for a low alcohol.

330 ml. bottle. BBF 30-09-2019. Alcohol-free addition to their beer range. Major brands have been predicting a massive rise in the consumption of alcohol-free beers for years now so De Halve Maan joining in makes sense. So far the predicted growth has not happened in Belgium despite massive advertisement from major brands. I heard good things about this beer but largely from non-beer geeks. Golden sparkling with a collapsing big fluffy soapy head. Nose is very sweet banana mixed with Belgian esters and low cleaning product, sweet heavy BE ester filled soapy cake-like sweetness in the nose. Taste is plastic, soapy, esters, thin but not overly thin plastic BE yeast, cake, sweet banana, bit strange with a bit harsh plastic lingering finish something chemical, sweet cake but they did an amazingly good job at actually getting some proper BE esters in this beer. Finish is a bit too harsh but it drinks well, big banana almost faint lemonade. Body is great for ABV, good carbonation. I expected this to be bad but they did an amazing job really here. Quite a big surprise this one and indeed best sub 0.5 % ABV beer / NA beer I have had to date.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Jumbo Maurik. Clear dark golden with a white head. Yeasty grainy aroma with some banana. Sweet taste with a light bitter finish. Almost like a regular Belgian blonde in appearance, aroma and taste. Only the finish is not regular and is more low-alcohol like. Well done.

0.33 l bottle from 'Drinks & Gifts', best before July 2019. Clear, golden amber with a massive, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly fruity-floral and a bit spicy aroma of grains, some peach and traces of banana. Gently sweet, slightly bitter, slightly fruity-floral and a little spicy taste of grains, some wort, a touch of peach and traces of banana, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly spicy and a bit worty finish. Thin to medium body, extremely effervescent mouthfeel, very lively carbonation. Decent NA beer with a Belgian character, unfortunately over-carbonated.

Thuis uit een flesje. Goed schuim, bovenop een mooie diepe oranje kleur. Goede bitterheid, zeker niet slecht voor het lage abv.
