Bottle at james’s. Pours black, nose is toffee, vanilla, oak, chocolate, taste is similar, little bit of smoke.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb and Stuu666. Pours black with a thin ring of tan head. Aromas of light spirit, whisky. Taste is whisky liqueur, faint chocolate. Thin finish.

Bottle [thanks bierkoning!] @ home. Opaque pitch black color, only the slightest dark brown head that disappears instantly. Aroma is malts, nice subtle whiskey aromas. Taste malts, whiskey boozyness coming through, roast, wood, liquor and a firm, somewhat sharp bitterness. Medium body, moderately oily texture, soft carbonation. Not bad at all, but I’d like it to be less boozy and a little less sharp bitter. Still a nice beer though. - Edit: After warming up a while it becomes softer, less sharp and quite a bit more mild sort of speak. Suits the beer better. Up from 3.7 to 3.9.

schenkt zwart met beperkte fijne bruine kraag. aroma van chocolade, rookmout, whisky, caramel, hout, turf, gebrande- en geroosterde mout. smaken van alcohol, whisky, redelijk tot stevig zoet, vanille, hout, zacht, glad, iets scherps (pepertje),volle donkere chocolade, gebrande- en geroosterde mout, zacht/glad/smooth, wel alcoholisch, volle body, lage co2, lange chocolade whisky achtige afdonk, iets droge houtskool, niet al te dik mondgevoel, whisky is wat dominant tov het bier, maar dat vind ik in dit geval niet erg. erg lekker spul dit.
