Third by cask, shared with Finn on the third day of GBBF Winter 20, Iron Bridge Bar. Coal black body, small sized beige head leaving spotty lacing behind. Dark malt-driven smell, lightly spiced. Nutty chocolate flavours, ashy. Spiced mid-sweet malty ending, mildly roasted. Nice and fine bodied. (Birmingham 06.02.2020).

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Swindon Beer festival, 28/10/2016. Near black in colour with a slight, beige, head. Rich, toasted malts, liquorice, milk chocolate character, leading to a boozy, slightly dry finish. Good.

50cl bottle from the Grumpy Goat, Reading. A glossy black pour with a ring of tan head; aroma of molasses and espresso coffee; thick and oily in the mouth with a lively, sharp bitterness that cuts through the sweet chocolate malt body; then a satisfying finish with chocolate and coffee, some warmth, and a lingering herbal bitterness. A well made stout.
