Here's Johnny! Ow isn't it? Yes it is. It's a spicy Brown Ale with Carolina Reaper pepper. Nice and spicy on the lips. Warm in the stomach

Bottle. dark brown color. Caramel in the soft spicy aroma. Malty sweet flavor with apple syrup and spicy notes. Some roast. Sticky. Not my taste.

Tap at Arendsnest, 1st August 18. Pours a murky dark brown. Aroma is caramel and mollases, taste is molasses, bitter and sticky sweet, then the chilli heat kicks in to balance it. I like it.

Huge, russet-tan head, dense, over hazy ruby-brown beer. Dark chocolate, paprika, chili, oriental spices, soy sauce, ketjap, peanuts. Sweet, chocolate, wood, plywood. Finish has some heat, but the flavour from the chilies is not really there, but a touch of scorched sweet peppers; roast, tobacco. Bit chewy, but far from full bodied; creamy head. The heat comes as an afterthought, but builds up gradually backthroat. Carolina Reaper??? Want to get us in hospital? Seriously, can't have used much, or this would have been utterly undrinkable. Which it isn't. 7/4/7/3/14

Bottle at Duinoord. Black with tan head. Sweet deep roasted malts, chocolate, hazelnut, the Carolina Reaper provides a nice spicy pepper kick. Moderate sweet and bitter, nicely tuned mild spiciness. Medium body and soft carbonation.
