Can thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - opaque black with an olive sheen. Nice fluffy off-white head. Nose - coffee, but very smoky. Almost more smoky than coffee, in fact. Taste - burnt or very heavily roasted coffee. No maple syrup as far as I can taste. Palate - medium bodied and creamy yet roasty. Dry roasty finish. Overall - solid, but the maple syrup has missing in action.

Can from Iechyd Da, Caernarfon. Shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours black with a thick beige head. Aromas of smoky coffee, light syrup, burnt toffee. Taste is roasty, coffee, light sweet syrup backnote. Thin finish.

Sampled from can, at home, kind courtesy of Maakun. Black with tan head. Dry roasted chocolate and barley malts, hints of coffee and rotten oak wood. Moderate sweet and bitter and light sourness, maybe served a bit (too) cold. Under medium body and soft carbonation. Like it very much considering the abv of 3.5%.

Can shared thanks to Santa minutemat. Black with light brown head. Lots of roasted malts, light mineral, wood, light raisins, faint maple, ginger, good amount of fruity coffee, some cassis. It’s very light on the smoke and maple, but definately a coffee stout. No real sweetness, medium bitter and very light acidity. Light bodied. Nice!

330ml can @ Chez Sophie. Pours black, with a soft tan head. Aroma is strong coffee with a light sweetness. Taste is heavy coffee roast and bitter charred wood that initially belies its strength but slowly dries out on the finish. Smooth with a fairly light body. Very little maple syrup presence unfortunately, but still a rather delicious coffee stout.
