From cask at The Brewery Tap, National Brewery Centre, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, with OGJ 03.02.18. Ebony. Dense, even and persistent head and lacing. Aroma of sweet chocolate sauce and coffee. Sweet taste, with chocolate, coffee and brittle. Low bitterness. And too sweet. Smooth mouthfeel.

Cask, large sample of someone else's half-pint during the 43rd Telford Beer Festival, hand-pulled at The Crown Inn, Oakengates on 29th Sep 2017. Nice Oatmeal Stout, smooth and tasty, slightly bitter before balancing out into a nutty flavoured brew. Looked the part too. Liked it.

Cask-conditioned at Gloucester Beer Festival, 31/3/2017. Near black in colour, with a thin, beige, head. English hop and toasted malt aroma, with some milk chocolate in the background. Flavour had hedgerow fruits, hazelnut, plain chocolate and more roasted malts, before a dryish finish. Very good.

Handpull cask at the Brewery Tap (part of the National Brewery Centre), Burton. Very very dark brown and almost opaque. Big creamy tan head. Smells of blackberry, charcoal and liquorice. Sweet, fruity taste gives way to a marked hoppy bitterness. More blackberry and muted liquorice in the aftertaste. Body is a bit thin, but otherwise a brilliant little stout.
