As a tribute to an English gentleman who was one of the greats during the ‘Golden Age of Cricket’ – the England and Yorkshire cricketer Wilfred Rhodes whose world records as: The most appearances made in first-class cricket (1,110 matches); most wickets taken (4,204) – completing the double of 1,000 runs and wickets in an English cricket season, no less than 16 times; and in his final test in 1930 was the oldest player at almost 53 yrs, to play in a Test match, chose to spend his twilight years in Dorset where, despite his blindness, followed local cricket matches and was still able to provide advice and opinion to cricketing fans who sought him out.

Third, cask ale at Brewhouse & Kitchen Poole. Shared with Finn. Misty golden body, dotted spots on the glass, filmy layer. Modest lemony hops on the nose. Hints of lemon, grass, and orange to the flavour character. Rounded fruity end. So and so. (Poole 22.10.2019).
