This new, amber-coloured beer has been brewed exclusively for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival, commemorating the death of Sid Vicious in 1979. It is a classic English ale with rich roast malt flavours, notes of dried fruit, a light spiciness from the English hop varieties and a balancing, subtle bitter finish.

Wetherspoon Autumn Beer Festival 2019. Cask @ Richard Oastler, Brighouse. Deeper golden with a glow and a balanced hop-malt combination, with perhaps a little more of the former in its aroma. It has a low spicy-grittiness but remains a fuller-bodied ale.

Third, cask ale, festival beer at Opera House (JDW). Shared with Finn. Clear copper coloured body, spotty lacing from a filmy layer. Caramel fruity nose. Mixed taste of leafy hops, caramel malts and a spicy twist. Bittersweet finish. Quite decent. (Tunbridge Wells 18.10.2019).
