Cask ale, half-pint, shard with Finn at the brewpub in Northampton. Transparent white head, spotty lacing, close to clear amber coloured body. Bread and earthy hops on the nose. Taste of rye bread added by a slight marmalade touch. Discreet bittersweet end. Satisfying. (12.02.2019).

Cask at the Manchester Beer and Cider Festival, 2019. Dark brown pour, no head. Nose of toffee apple, cinnamon, caramel. Flavours of toffee apple, toffee, red apple.

Bottle from the Blue Glass, Bedford. Reddish brown and hazy with a small ring of off-white head. Caramel smell with the spicy sourness of the rye. Tastes sweet with a basic hoppy bitterness. Shirt finish. Body is fairly watery. A bit disappointing all in all but certainly drinkable.
