Munken VIII er en lys, belgisk trippel. Den er lettdrikkelig med lett krydrede toner og en tydelig sødme og gjærprofil. Prøv den sammen med juletorsken, lutefisken, spekemat eller kalkun!

Bottled (from Vinmonopolet Kirkenes). Golden colour, mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma is mild spices, some yeast, and some sweet malts. Flavour is sweet fruits, spices, yeast and some mild alcohol warming to it. Flavour is rather nice, aroma very simplistic.

Well stored bottle. Slightly unclear golden body under a big, dense off-white head. Nice aroma of pale malt, spicy yeast and hint of fruit. Taste is smooth pale malt, spices, honey and hint of some citric fruit. Might appreciate a bit more challenging beer, but this is no doubt well made and balanced. One year made god things to this.

Bottled 330ml (Vinmonopolet, vintage 2018)
Hazy orange colour, small steady white head. Overriped peach in the nose, slightly oxcideced. Medium-bodied. Sweetish overriped mango and apricot in the flavour. Tripel yeast spiceyness. Decent.

330ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Larvik. A pearl white head over a misty orange-gold body, fair lacing. Dough and herbal hops on the nose. Mixed taste of bread, dusty hops and apricot. Ends medium sweet with dried fruits. Rounded mouth feel. Pleasing to a certain degree. (Hotel room, Larvik 01.12.2018).

Bottle. Courtesy of the brewery. It pours a hazy orange-golden colored body under a finger-thick off-white head. Some curtains. The aroma has a light spiced touch, with grass, pale malts, white bread, fruity sweetness, some cookie dough and a touch of cooked vegetables. It's sweet on the palate, perhaps a bit too sweet, very fruity, with canned peach, grass, white sugar, bread, pale malts, yeasty spicyness and a hint of raisin. Notes of cooked vegetables too. It's full-bodied, nicely carbonated and smooth on the palate, perhaps a bit on the sweet side. Long fruit-driven finish. A decent tripel that is a bit sweet, and I'd like to get rid of that cooked veggie touch. 181107
