Old Stoat is called this because in olden times stout used to be called stoat. It is not clear whether stoat was also an ingredient of the beer in those days, nor even if the word bears any relation to its modern usage.

Bottle from Locronan beershop opened at Camping Kost-Ar-Moor. Poors black with no head. Deep roasted chocolate malt. Burnt grains, light ash, ground coffee notes. Moderate bitter. Thin body, low carbonation, bit watery, otherwise quite dry and not very sweet. --- Beer merged from original tick of Old Stoat on 18 Dec 2017 at 11:45 - Score: 6. Original review text: 3.3
