Medium beige head. Clear deep dark red body with light carbonation. Herbal cloves aroma with mealy peas notes. Odd, but not unpleasant. Sweetish spicy cloves taste with herbal notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Sweetish earthy spicy herbal aftertaste with teak and pea notes. Very nice and highly drinkable. (0.5l bottle, from wine monopoly, Triaden, Lørenskog. Batch L172.)

500 ml bottle, 2015, mainly green label, ABV is 6.5%. Hazy and very dark brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of Christmas spices and brown malts. Medium dry flavour, with roast malts and distinct Christmas spices, maybe not very well balanced, but not bad either. A slight warming burn of spices, alcohol and hops in the finish. Might well drink this one again.

On tap at Patrick’s. Close to black in colour, topped by a dense beige head. Sweet, spiced aroma with cloves and cinnamon. Roasted malts and some cocoa. Dark sugar. It’s full bodied, softly carbonated and lightly warming, with flavors of roasted malts, cocoa, spices and a hoppy bitterness. Lasting malt dominated finish. Quite decent this one, even though it’s spiced. 151106
