Refreshing and rustic beers were traditionally brewed by farmhouses to sustain seasonal workers out in the fields. Light and summery with a tart finish, saison is a state of mind, not a style.

Can. Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. Soft haze on a bright gold. Decent, shiny topped, white head. Nose has slightly rubbery yeast notes. Some wheat. Cereal. Hint of herbal hop. Taste has sweetness, initially, turning fairly dry, and lightly bitter. A tad flabby on the palate. Foamy carbonation. Light bitter finish. Ok.

Fra keg på bryggeriet 29 Apr 17. Mørk aprikosfarget. Filmskum. Aroma av krydder & frukt. Smaken ananas & fersken. Lett syrlig ettersmak. Litt kjedelig.

Keg at the brewery tap room. Firm white head that laced well. Near clear warm golden body. Mild spiced fruity nose. Flavours of tropical fruit, joined by pale malts and a spicy touch. Mild dry bitter end. Tasty (Attending East Bristol Brewery Trail 29.04.2017).
