Silky and smooth due to the addition of oats, this stout offers a great mouthfeel coupled with deep roasted and coffee notes. To maximise flavour, this beer remains unfined.

Cask @ Bay Horse Inn, Totnes. Black-brown with a creamy-frothy head. Has a smooth and pleasant mouthfeel, and a gentle but stated enough roasted malt flavour, that has a hint of floral.

Cask at Bay Horse Inn, Totnes. Aour milk and chocolate aroma. Dark with a cola tint. Head attempts to be beige and creamy but ends up blotchy. Sour coffee berries before creamy coffee kicks on. Light. Thin vaguely creamy. Flat carbonation. Astringent finish. OK if not great.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Tucker’s Maltings Beer Festival, 15/4/2016. Near black in colour, with a decent, beige, head. Aroma of milk chocolate and roasted malts. Rather thin in the mouth, with more flavours of chocolate, some berry sweetness and toasty malts, before a dryish finish. Good.
