Sweetish, earthy and slightly roasty with some syrup, stingy gin, herbal notes and oak. Heavy.

Bottled. Deep reddish copper colour with a mediumsized yellowish beige foamy head. Aroma is alcohol, some dried fruits, plum, juniper and mild gin notes. Flavour is alcohol, some gin notes, strongly toffeeish sweet malts, some mild wood and dried fruits. As it warms up it gets quite plumlike.

Best before 11/09/23, Lot 265, 330ml bottle, two years in my cellar; Limited release of Rye Wine aged in Kyrö Distillery Koskue Gin barrels;

APPEARANCE: lazy gusher but nothing alarming; gorges appearance in the glass, deep dark caramel color with ruby & chestnut hues, small cappuccino like head with tiny bubbles in the middle and few large fluffy like on the side;

AROMA: wow, really gin forward on the nose in a good way, aromatic quality gin, botanicals, scents of perfume, melting dark caramel, toffee, sweet bread & crust, soft spicy alcohol adds an extra note, not offensive or hot, hints of wood/barrel, raisins soaked in gin, subtle dried herbs on the edges, hints of butterscotch, rye is quite restrained

TASTE: smooth carbonation with very tiny & creamy bubbles, fairly silky & oily mouthfeel, medium full body, smooth moderately dry aftertaste with lingering gin\botanicals; medium sweet onset of melting caramel, brown sugar, raisins, impressions of dates, subtle hints of butterscotch, gin is nicely incorporated (no harshness or soapy effect) and helps to balance the sweetness; alcohol is perfectly hidden, smooth & soft bitterness from botanicals/herbs, hints of dry grass, light spicy finish (rye) with lingering gin

OVERALL: I have never been disappointed with Sori beers and that one is no exception, everything works well together and gin character is nicely presented in the aroma and flavor; truly enjoyable sipper but also dangerously with no obvious 10,1% abv

Keg at the Grove, Huddersfield, 04/10/19. Slight murk on a chestnut brown pour with a decent beige cap that dissipates to edgeing. Nose is sweet malts, toffee, brown sugar melt, dusty red berries, fruit slice, light alcohol exhaust. Taste comprises mellow barrel, red berries, light spice, toffee, dried fruits, brown sugar melt. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent BA BW.
