Bottle. Pours a dark brown to black colour with big beige head. Sweet and a little roasted aroma of chocolate cake, nuts and some banana and smoke. The flavour is nicely roasted with ash, dark chocolate, wood and some nuts. Soft mouth feel and has a medium body and bitterness. Sweet, balanced and roasted. Nice bitterness in the end.

500ml bottle, batch 005, from Vinmonopolet Bestillingsutvalget. Bubbly, tan- coloured head. Near back coloured body. Spotty lacing. Smell of earthy malts, slightly smoked. Taste of grainy caramel, wood and dried fruits. Hints of smoked malts. Semi dry malty ending. Medium bodied. Rather smooth on the swallow. Okay porter (shared with djoeye and Finn, rating session, Tromsø 28.07.2016).

Bottle. It pours a dense, almost creamy, beige head over a dark reddish brown body. Some lacing. The aroma is dominated by roasted malts, with some cooked vegetables and a spiced hint chiming in. Something vanilla- or tonka-like too. It’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated, with flavors of roasted malts and some spiced, vanilla-ish notes. Long finish. Perhaps not the most exciting or complex brew you’ll ever taste, but it’s sure an honest beer. 160102
