27.12.2016, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Small bubbly-creamy shortlasting head. Aroma is kind of neutral, weeds, old hay, bark, roasted grain, grass, minerals, paper, old wash cloth. Taste is slightly harsh metallic, weeds, bark, metal tank, old hay, grass, dried grain, paper. Little bitterness, harsh metallic mouthfeel. Crap!

Bottle. A clear, dark amber to brown beer with a small, light beige head. The aroma is toffeeish, bready and oaked, with some dried fruits. It’s medium bodied, dry and smooth on the palate, lighlty tannin-ish, with flavors of caramel, dried fruits and bread. Even some oak and grass. Long caramel and bread dominated finsh. Nothing special going on here... Well, except that it’s unusual to find an oaked Norwegian Christmas beer of store strength. 161118

Clear nice chesnut color with a fine thick tan head. Quite mild aroma in this one. Some toffee notes. Medium body and a fine carbonation. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Quite mild flavor at start. Well it was a bit to cold. This beer need some temperature. Anyway quite mellow and soft stuff. Mostly toffee and some oak (probably because I can read – the label says so). Maybe a bit nutty and mild fruity. Nothing wrong with this one. Easy and ok to drink. Just way to mild.

170ml on tap at Ølhallen in Tromsø. Creamy fawn-coloured head dissipating over a bright mahogany coloured body. Modest aroma of wood and caramel malts. Flavoured with juniper spices, caramel, and vanilla. Drying finish. Medium bodied. Interesting and quite alright (27.01.2016).
Earlier Rating: 12/31/2015 Total Score: 3.2
330ml draught, as Røros Eik 4.7 % abv, at Ølhallen in Tromsø. Fawn-beige tophead remaining as a filmy layer leaving crocheted lacing behind. Deep mahogany coloured body. Modest spiced malt-fruity nose, pine, wood and caramel. Taste of oak, juniper, dark malts and dark fruits with a backdrop of pine needles to the ending. Rather tasty stuff, easy to drink (Romjulstreff 29.12.2015).

Fra fat på Ølhallen 29 Des 15 i hyggelig selskap. Merket Røros Eik. Mørk amber. Lavt skum som daler sakte. Tett lacing. Forsiktig aroma av malt. Smaken lett fruktig. Innslag av nøtter. Fin balanse men litt tynn.
