330ml can. The text on this can says it should be served at zero degrees, so I put it in the fridge for a while. Now one with a common sense would drink anything at this temperature, so this was sampled at about 6 degrees. As expected there where almost no flavor at all at this temperature. Is this supposed to be the ultimate beer for those who can’t stand the taste of a beer? Anyway I waited I while and tried it again at a normal temperature and some flavors tuned up. It’s a clear, golden beer with almost no head (at least at this stage). Still very little flavors, some grain and an unbalanced sweetness with no bitterness. But then again not to different from many macro lagers, just a little bit less flavors. Original review text: Can. Slightly hazy golden body with a white head. Quite delicate in aroma, pale malt, wheat, floral hops and fruity pepper with spices like often found in a Saison. Flavor is light, mild pale malt, wheat, hint of fruits and spicy with distinct chili. Medium to light bodied and warming chili aftertaste. This was quite a positive surprise, had to admit I was rather sceptic to this one with low expectations. But it’s actually working as a blond with chili. It’s a bit like a crossover between a blond and a Saison spiced with chili. This kind of beer could so often just end up as some kind of novelty drink, but it’s actually very balanced and would be a fine, refreshing beer for drinking if you like a hot, spicy touch to it.

Can. The Ratebeer-site wouldn’t load when I was going to enter the beer in the database. I guessed that was a sign to me, telling me that it’s a bad beer. And it was. It poured pale golden, clear, and topped by a small white head. So far so good. (Actually, that’s not so good, but it got worse.) The beer is supposed to be drank at zero degrees centigrade, but that will hide all the flavors and aroma, so I couldn’t resist having it at ca 8 degrees. I even sampled it side by side with Hansa’s pils, which I find both uninteresting and a bit bad, at the same temperature, and that was a good beer compared to Chill. The nose was mostly chemical and wet, cheap cardboard, but fortunately weak. The thin body was quite weak as well, and chemical, and the beer finished with a little touch of hoppiness to accomplish the chemical twist. It left my mouth dry and I felt thirsty, maybe that’s intended? There are some grainy and malty notes as well all the way, but they are playing the second, or maybe third, violin. I guess my rating sums the beer up rather nice, and know that I seldom go below that rating, except for if I find a beer foul or (almost) un-drinkable. A hazy pale orange-golden beer with a dense, finger-thick white head. The aroma is quite wheat-ish and yeasty, with banana, some lemon and grass note and a spiced touch. Black pepper and something else. It’s medium bodied and nicely carbonated, with a chili burn that at first was extremely gentle and only in the swallow but then spreads to all over the mouth and is far from gentle. Sure, I like it, but this level would probably suit a dark beer better. Banana, wheat and some grass, yeast and spice in the flavor, leading to a chili burn driven finish with banana and a generic fruityness. Didn’t expect this from Hansa, guessed I would find a boring blonde ale with little character from the yeast, and just a hint of chili. Reducing the chili level a bit might be a good idea though, but I might still be tempted to have another one or two. 170517
