Cask at the Wellington, Bingohame, 11/02/22. Light black with a good sized khaki cap. Nose is dark malts, light spice, dried fruits, dates, toffee. Taste comprises dried fruit rinds, hint of liquorice, figs, dark malts, spice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, light drying close. Solid cask affair.

Cask: Poured a black with light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is rich malty, smoke chocolate hints.

Cask at the Wellington. A jet black brown coloured pour with a a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is black liquorice, woody bark, black liquorice, dried fruit. Charred. Palate is semi sweet, woody bark moderate oily, char.

Tried at the Cardinals Hat, Lincoln. Dark almost black colour with a tan head. Roasted malt and a light chocolate aroma. Taste roasted malt and rich fruit. Nice.

Half pint on gravity at The 24th Ipswich Beer Festival. Almost black body under a low head. Powerful aroma of roasted malt. Chocolate flavour with hints of dark fruit. Bitter sweetness in a lingering aftertaste. Enjoyable (21.09.2006).

Cask/gravity at Ipswich beer festival 21 Sep 2006. Completely black. A thin white head. Rich burned aroma. Roasted fruity flavour. Fruity and pleasant aftertaste. Well balanced. The alcohol is well hidden.
