On tap @ Grünerløkka Brygghus, May 2014. Unclear dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma has dark malt, but sadly also quite much butterscotch. Flavor is sweet malt, roasted coffee and unfortunately butterscotch, not much smoke. Medium body and off flavors in aftertaste. Not good, will re-rate if possible.

On tap at Grünerløkka Brygghus. A dark brown beer topped by a medium sized beige head. Coffee, butterscotch, roasted malts and some bonfire in the aroma. The flavor has some of the roasted malt kind of bitterness, as well as coffee, bonfire and butterscotch notes. Semi-sweet on the palate, velvety and medium bodied, with a roasted bitterness in the end. A decent beer except for the butterscotch. 140501

Taster, tap at Grünerløkka Brygghus. Shiny naked surface to a pitch black body. Very appealing on the nose with smoked malt joined by delicate sweetness. Dark roasted malty flavours including caramel and liquorice, together with dark fruity notes, offset by a little tartness to the ending. Fine bodied. Well-made stout (Oslo 22.04.2014).
