Draught at Foeders in Amsterdam, shared by my girlfriend. Dutch style Bock with oats and roasted malts. Irregularly lacing, egg-white, moussy head over a lightly hazy, deep reddish copper coloured beer. Aroma of caramel candy, raw carrot, red apple, wet dog, orange peel, toasted bread, cereals, subtle cinnamon. Mildly fruity, cleanish onset of apricot, apple and banana, quite bubblegummy, bit soapy even, supple mouthfeel, medium carbonated. Caramelly and bit cereally, but nicely rounded malt middle, sweetish with a thin toasty bitterish accent, spicy notes in the finish (I assume that cinnamon again but not strong at all), lightly bittering. Like the Amarillo Bok, which we also tasted there, this seems like an all too modest attempt at updating the traditional Dutch 'bokbier' style - why call this "Kaneelbok" if hardly any cinnamon is noticeable and you still end up with a simple, straightforward, classic Dutch Bock like there are so many around (in the right season) already?

Tap at foeders. Clear dark golden with white head. Sweet toasted malts. Chestnut related aromas. Yeasty. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body, sugary feel with soft carbonation.
