Bottle at home. Clear with a mahogany color, and a big, very foamy beige head. Malty aroma of breadcrumbs, wood, leather, heather, some fudge, some freshly ground pepper and grass. The taste follows up and is malty and with nice grassy hops in the end. Some caramel in the background. Has a light and smooth mouth feel, light body and light to medium bitterness. Pretty carbonated but interesting flavours for an altbier.

On tap @ Kick. Dark brown body with a moderate sized off-white head. Aroma has roasted malt, chocolate and hint of coffee. Flavor is smooth roasted malt, chocolate, some coffee and balanced bitterness, quite sweet actually. Fine body and pleasant aftertaste.

On tap. It’s a lighlty unclear copper til light brown beer, an off-white head sits patiently on top. The aroma has caramel, some lightly roasted malts, caramel sauce, hazelnuts and a touch of dark dried fruits. The flavor could use some more bitterness I think. It’s not that it’s too sweet, I just think it needs it. Roasted malts, caramel sauce, nuts and a faint bready touch. It’s full-bodied and soft on the palate, quite dryish, with a fine bitterness in the finish. This is one damn fine store strength beer. 140531

200ml, tap at Café Sara. Near clear mahogany coloured body. Just a beige ring to the rim of the glass. Caramel malty nose. Grain malty flavours, semi-sweet with hints of chocolate and toffee, slightly roasted. Malt-bitter ending that lasts for quite a while. Medium bodied. Likable (Oslo 28.03.2014).
