750 mL bottle poured at Tom’s. Much thanks to the person who brought a Virginia beer. I was never able to track the person down that I owe one to. 2015 vintage. Pours a dark cola brown color with a fizz ring head.. Viciously sweet cookie aroma with vanilla and brown sugar. Flavor is smoother than expected based on the aroma. Syrupy, gingerbread and consistent spice that reminds you of the wintertime. Beautiful sunny day out during this tasting, so the setting seems a bit off, but the beer was good overall.

On tap at Sedona. Dark brown near black with a small tan head. Lovely aroma of coffee, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon. Lovely. I’d love to wake up to this on Christmas morning. Hell any morning I don’t have anywhere to be. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft: Toast, ginger, and cinnamon nose. Black, thin tan head. Cinnamon, toast and cardamom. Medium body, soft carbonation. Not so much coffee character as dark bread toast, but the judicious spicing makes this a really enjoyable beer. Worth the hype.

Draft pour at Churchkey. Poured a near pitch black color with little more than a wispy, small tan head to it. Aroma was nice cold roasted coffee. Some light spices, roasted and sweet malt characters, and what appears to be gingerbread. Flavor is cocoa, roasted malts, and gingerbread. Lots of coffee. Alcohol was hidden pretty well.
