Half, cask at King William IV. A deep rustic tint to a pitch black body. Fair tan-coloured head, clingy lacing. Smell of chocolate, citrus peels and mild ginger. Mixed taste of mid-sweet apples, chocolate, liquorice, and citrus. Ginger notes, not overdone, to it. Malt-fruity ending. A bit of everything in this one. Pretty nice (Leyton, London 09.04.2016).

Cask at King William IV. It pours black with a decent tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, liquorice, tangy fruits, coffee, chocolate, tangy apple pie and a touch of permanent marker pen. The taste is bitter - sweet, tangy apple, ginger spice, sourness, toast, berry, fruit compote, burnt toast, sourness and liquorice with a pretty dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Interesting, but odd tangy and sour edge to it. Fair.
