A spiced belgian Dubbel, ideal for the dark winter months. Made with a blend of Belgian malts, lightly spiced with allspice and fermented with a blend of yeast strains, this is an intensely fruity, spicy brew.

440ml can @ 6%. Cloudy amber with big off-white fluffy head; certainly looks the part. That banana like creamy yeast note is very evident in the aroma with quite a bit of allspice. Toasty malts, quite sweet, spices, banana and light bitterness. Medium bodied, slightly chewy. Its a good attempt at the Belgium style, quite tasty although at 6% its almost like a session-dubbel!

A nice english twist on the style. Maybe a touch of ginger, but it meshes well with the yeast driven flavors. GBBF Winter

Keg at Mr Foleys Cask Ale House, shared with ManVsBeer. Hazy amber coloured body, filmy layer, minimal lacing. Aroma of dried fruits. Mixed taste of apricot and toffee, rather jam-like. Sweet malty-fruity end with a touch of yeast. Satisfying. (Leeds 06.07.2017).

Keg @ Mr Foleys, Leeds. Amber with a glow and a thin head. Has a heavy bubble-gum sweetness evident in both aroma and taste.

Bottle at the Twisted Barrel tap room, 04/02/17. Light hazed on an amber pour with a generous off white head. Nose is candied fruit peel, spice, cinnamon, French toast, brown sugar. Taste comprises candy floss, biscuit, toffee, white peppery spice, clove, fruit loaf. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a lick of alcohol. Decent Belgian affair.

Overactive beige head immediately disappeared leaving a fizzing time bomb of red oak liquid. Woody, syrup aroma. thin as water on the palate - feels like a sparkling sweet juice. Then the taste............ over sweet, over spiced with false flavours. Absolutely diabolical.

Keg at Cherry Reds; clear copper pour with a creamy beige head, aroma has red fruits and some hints of yeast, taste has caramel, some fruit, yeast, some spice action, ok.

Keg from Twisted Barrel Brewery Tap, Coventry, Friday 29th April 2016 Pours dark brown in colour with an off-white head Lots of dark candi sugar, warming, alcohol shows but never intrudes. A little spicy, but good, I like this, ok it may be a tiny bit thin at the back end but it is good. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6
