330ml bottle from Gulating Ølutsalg, Tromsø. A pocket fawn coloured head over an opaque dark brown body. Clingy lacing. Roasted brown malts with a touch of pine on the nose. Fine blended taste of brown malts, earth and pine needles. Malt-fruity finish. Soft in the mouth. Good drinking. (Tromsø 12.10.2017).

Bottle. It's a murky brown beer with a two-finger thick light beige head. The aroma is rather yeasty, with pine cones, resin and roasted malts. Too roasted for a black IPA. Roasted, chocolatey flavor with a good bitterness and some piney, resiny hops. It's medium bodied and rather carbonated, semi-sweet, with a lasting roasted finish. Too roasted and too yeasty this one. 171008

Bottle from Gulating Brennåsen. Clear, dark amber body with a big, stable tan head. Strong piny aroma with dark malt, dark chocolate, hint of coffee and light grapefruit. Flavor is medium sweet, light roasted dark malt, chocolate, hint of coffee, lots of pine hops, some grapefruit and balanced bitterness. Balanced body and long lasting aftertaste. A very nice version of a black IPA at this low ABV. Smooth and tasty.

27.06.2017, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Big fizzy longlasting head. Aroma is dry roasted, toast, pine needles, roasted grain, hops, minerals, moss, licorice, grass, dark malts, coffee. Taste is dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, roasted grain, burnt toast, harsh hops, pine needles, bark, paper, sour coffee. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough.

Mørk mørk brun med fingerhøyt beige skum. Lukter sitrus, sydhavsfrukt, noe animalsk lukt mot rått kjøtt, hint av kaffe og blomster. Middels minus i fylde. Middels bitter, sitrusskall, lett maltig sødme og noe nøtter.
